Megan Anna Rapinoe born 5th July, 1985 in Redding California. In her teens she started playing soccer. The fraternal twin of Rachael, Megan Rapinoe, also went to the University of Portland. Megan Rapinoe, a member of the soccer team at the university became one of the top scorers of women's collegiate soccer across the United States. The team was forced to suspend playing throughout her junior and sophomore years due to a knee injury. As a senior returning to full-time football and played in all of the matches during the season. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in sciences in sociology at the University of Portland, graduating in the year 2008. Rapinoe began her soccer career in 2009 after the Chicago Illinois Red Stars, a newly-formed Women's Professional Soccer WPS League team, selected Rapinoe. The team was in existence until the team disbanded at close of the 2010. Rapinoe played for a few games playing for The Philadelphia Pennsylvania Independence before being traded to Boca Raton Florida MagicJack. She scored two goals in just eight games to help guide the magicJack to a third-place finish that season. The magicJack was dissolved in the latter part of 2011 and WPS fell apart in the early months of 2012. Rapinoe returned to the United States in 2011 after playing a few games for Sydney Football Club FC, the Australian W-League. The Seattle Washington Sounders Women, now Sound FC, were her next team. In 2013, Rapinoe spent her time training in France. When the WPS split up, she joined Seattle Reign FC (now OL Reign) of the National Women's Soccer League NWSL. Between 2015 and the year 2019, her efforts have assisted players from the U.S. Women's World Cup winning team win consecutive titles. She was appointed cocaptain. Rapinoe was able to score two goals as United States beat Australia 4-3 in the bronze-medal game at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Japan had been delayed from the Olympics until 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
